Volunteer Funnel

Your time serving the Lord is so important! God uses every little detail to bring people to know Jesus. I like to think of it as a funnel!

From the minute someone drives onto our campus and encounters the Parking Team, he or she experiences an overwhelming amount of love! For example, they are being welcomed by our friendly Greeters and escorted by our smiling Concierges. The Welcome Center is available for anyone who has questions while at the same time the Ushers are available to direct them to their seats. From the initial opening of the service, the Worship Team brings everyone to the throne of God and they experience Him in an intimate way. Then through Pastor Chuck’s teaching on the Word of God, people come to know Christ and there are Decision Counselors available to guide them on to their next step, all while their children are being taught about Jesus in the Children’s ministry. The communion that has already been prepared in advance provides for a time of reflection of what Christ has done on the cross and is the culmination that “funnels” people forward to have an eternal life with Christ!

We are all an essential part of the body and we need every part working in harmony. I love the passion our teams have and how they jump in to help each other. I see so many hugs and camaraderie. I pray that God will use each and every one of us to do His will!

Please join in the fun and volunteer! I know it looks like we have it all handled, but we do need more volunteers! Be a part of the Volunteer Funnel that brings people eternal life in Christ! charlotte@crossroadschurch.com

Romans 12:4-5 Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.

Wow...one of our volunteers (keeping the name private, but you know who you are) just came in crying! I was concerned and she explained what had happened.

A young women had discovered she was pregnant and decided to get an abortion. She was afraid to tell her parents and of course, didn't want to endure what goes along with this situation. This wonderful volunteer spent time with her praying, listening and showing her the love of Christ. The volunteer was moved to tears when she received the call that the young woman was not going to have the abortion and another life had been saved. This volunteer told the young woman that she was her hero. About 1/2 hour later the volunteer felt the Holy Spirit prompting her to call the young woman. She gave her a call to explain that she needed to repent & change the way she was living and the young woman rededicated her life to Christ.

This young woman will now be embraced by our church family and she will see the love of Christ in action!!! It's amazing how God will use you if you are willing to hear and obey His promptings! I appreciate every single volunteer @ Crossroads and I know God will bless them for their obedience!

Everyone NEEDS to volunteer! It enables God to use you and connects you to people in a special way!!! Email me at charlotte@crossroadschurch.com so that you won't miss out on the blessings.

Today I'd like to tell you about Eunice! She is a volunteer that has been here at Crossroads for a long time. She volunteers in the women's ministry, she is the Leader for our Welcome Center and helps in our Decision Counseling area on Sundays! A while back, I really needed help with administrative work and was asking our team leaders if they knew of anyone that would have time during the week days. She immediately said she would do it. I was so excited and she jumped right in and started working 4 days a week in the office with me. Next thing you know she's helping out at our front desk and then helping others with their copying issues, etc. It was such a blessing to us and we have never been so appreciative!

I know that when she gets to heaven, she will hear from God; "Well done good and faithful servant." She loves people and wants nothing more than to serve her Lord! I'm amazed at all the time and support she has provided because of faithfulness to God.

She has expressed to me how much this has meant to her. I believe when we serve others and God, it is a blessing to us!

If you are interested in receiving that kind of blessing, you can contact me at charlotte@crossroadschurch.com

Getting Started

As the Director of Involvement @ Crossroads I never thought I would be blogging, but I read a great book (Tribes) that inspired me about doing a better job of keeping in touch and more importantly, creating community within Crossroads.

It came to mind that I should blog about the volunteers at Crossroads that sacrifice their time and energy to serve God. They love what they do and there are many who go way above and beyond what anyone would expect.

This first blog will be a great big thanks to the leaders of the various teams. I know they do it for God, but I'm am so humbled to know that they work hard at their jobs and homes...then spend their free time putting together schedules, coordinating get togethers, calling or emailing their teams! It's very much appreciated by myself and the Crossroads leadership.

So thank you to Tony Smith (Communion/Offering), Mike Olson (Ushers), Eunice Johnson (Welcome Center), Todd Holtkamp (Emergency Response), Jeff Evans (Communion Consolidation), Gary & Carolyn Lauren (Decision Counseling), Mark, Cheryl & Kyle Peabody (Greeters), Bill & Betty Johnson (Saturday AM Communion Preparation), Kirk Bennett (Sunday PM Communion/Offering), Mark & April DeSeive, Richard Leonard (First Responders), Arnold Carraway (Prison Ministry) & Frank Ayars (Parking).

If you think you would like to do some volunteering...please contact me at charlotte@crossroadschurch.com. We can always use your help!
